In 1926, plans to widen George Street and develop Bull Green were voted against by ratepayers.
In 1903, Lloyd George, the future Prime Minister (1916-22), visited Halifax and spoke at the Victoria Theatre to a packed audience. He was invited by the Halifax Liberal Association.
