In the 1920s and 1930s, shopping for groceries at "Drivers Stores" were a way of life. They had a store at the top of Woolshops, one at Old Market and two at King Cross, one at King Cross Street and another near the bottom of Leadenhall Street. They also had a store on Wharfe Street, Sowerby Bridge and all over the West Riding. They were based in Bradford. They had to compete with the likes of Co-Op stores and Economic stores.

This would have been taken in the mid 1930s at a King Cross store.
This is the same scene in King Cross today
